As oncology treatment continues to improve, long-term survival is now the expectation for many reproductive-age patients who receive a cancer diagnosis. With this progress comes the hope for future fertility, making discussion of the option of fertility preservation (FP) an essential component to the cancer diagnosis and treatment process. Unfortunately, FP counseling, access, and utilization can vary widely at different medical centers and greatly impact cancer patients’ experiences.
